Shipped-by-Sail’s aim is to reduce the emissions associated with the shipping industry by turning away from the use of fossil fuels and returning to the obvious source of power at sea, the wind. We achieve this by working with the sail-cargo community as a broker to enable producers and consumers to connect.
Our secondary aim is to re-engage people with where their food is produced and how it travels to their kitchen. We believe, as a species, we have started to take the distance our food travels for granted and are somewhat spoilt for choice.
We don’t wish to turn back the clock but we do think we should be more responsible in how our food is transported around the world.
